On-Street Training

One day format

Limited to three or four participants.

Advance and refine your riding proficiency with Group on-street training.

This single day training tour will increase your safety and confidence. Courses are conducted in the beautiful Berkshire Hills of Western Mass and Southern Vermont.

  • Street training with real-time coaching using Sena Bluetooth bike-to-bike communicators (provided if you don’t have one)
  • 3:1 student-to-coach ratio
  • Tour through the hidden Berkshire hills of Western Massachusetts and Southern Vermont
  • Discussion during lunch stop and at the end of the day
  • Video of our day with recorded coaching.

Benefits of group riding

Staying SafeLearning and fun is enhanced as students learn from each other. Your “classroom” is the uncrowded, scenic roads of Western New England.

Group training tours are a social experience where you share the tour with like-minded riders and learn as a group. The tour is for 3 or 4 riders.

Provided Sena Bluetooth helmet communicators allow immediate and meaningful coaching in real-time.

Cost

1 Day Group Training: $600 per rider

Scholarships are available for all courses!!

Many insurance companies accept the Riding in the Zone completion certificate as proof of rider training that is eligible for insurance discounts.


Requirements

  • You must have a current motorcycle endorsement, as well as a legally insured and registered motorcycle.
  • You must also have current health insurance and sign a liability waiver.
  • Have about a season (2- 3,000  miles total) of riding experience. This is not a course for raw beginners. Students are wise to take the MSF Basic RiderCourse or have an equivalent level of skill before signing up.
  • You gotta wear full gear (see below).

Skill Level

Group training follows a flexible curriculum. The curriculum is appropriate for all “experienced” riders, but depending on your ability you may need to be patient with your fellow students as their skills develop. And if you’re less experienced, no worries. I customize the day to meet everyone’s needs.


What to Bring

  • Riding Gear (required at all times)
    • DOT-approved helmet
    • eye protection (windshields do not count as eye protection)
    •  motorcycle jacket,
    • long pants (armored motorcycle pants preferred)
    • full coverage gloves
    • sturdy, over-the-ankle boots.
  • Communicators: If you have an existing SENA  (20s, 30K, 50 series) Bluetooth communication system, please keep it in your helmet.

Where Will We Ride?

We will be touring around my little bit of motorcycling heaven in the Berkshire Hills of Western Massachusetts and southern Vermont. The beautiful Berkshire foothills have miles and miles of awesome motorcycling roads.
Rides will meet in or nearby Ashfield, MA.
NOTE: There is no cell service in Ashfield to speak of.

Lodging

Since we start our day at 8:30, you may want to book a room the night before (on your dime). And maybe the night after, since we end around 4:00.

Most students stay at the Red Roof Inn in South Deerfield, MA.

Participants pay for dinners and any lodging.

Larger Group Training Tours (1 or 2 day tour option)

This is a custom option for larger groups of 8 or more.
Do you have a larger group of friends who would like to train together while having a great time touring the beautiful Berkshires? This is a great option. One or two day tours are available. Dates can be accommodated on request.

This tour does not include Bluetooth communication, but does include the attention of staff who will address individual needs.
